Things to do in Williamsburg and New Kent this Fall

Fall is a great time to live in Virginia! From seeing the colors peak in Shenandoah National Park to picking apples in Charlottesville, there is no shortage of fall charm to enjoy. But you don’t have to take a day trip to enjoy the crisp weather. Williamsburg, New Kent, and our surrounding areas have plenty of fall fun for the family! 14th Annual “A Taste of New Kent” Festival at Colonial Downs! Join the Jamestown Settlement for a night of trick-or-treating, creepy crafts, festive music, decorated houses and spooky ships!”Family Frights offers plenty of frightful fun for families. This year, start with a journey through the enchanted forest trail where you’ll encounter fairies and other magical creatures. Visit the ships to help Peter Pan fend off that pesky crocodile, or help find a special little clown fish. FOODS AND FEASTS OF COLONIAL VIRGINIA
Discover how food was gathered, preserved and prepared on land and at sea by Virginia’s English colonists and Powhatan Indians. Enjoy cooking demonstrations throughout the day in re-creations of Paspahegh Town, a colonial fort and along the ships’ pier.
